No make-up....not so scary!

First of all I want to say this...I love make-up!  It is another form of art to me!  When we are young we can't wait to get to wear make-up!  I remember an old childhood picture of me walking in the kitchen holding my Daddy's hand and just balling...I had red lipstick all over my face.  I was sad I got caught evidently, but my parents were just laughing!  My friend and I got caboodle's when we were around 10 I think with blue eye-shadow and our own lipstick and blush!  We felt so cool and so pretty on our way to go see Hocus Pocus at the movies!  Something tends to happen as we get older make-up begins to be a dreaded chore and a cover up of what you tend to hate about yourself.  That is sad to me.  I hear all the time "Make-up is for pretty people"..."No amount of make-up can fix my looks"!  Seriously?!?!  Look at this picture of a childhood favorite...Barbie.  Without make-up she is a little plain, but still adorable.  Make-up doesn't change who you are or even make you prettier...it does sometimes give more confidence!  Later in this blog I will show another way to be confident without make-up.  Make-up will become fun again!

I think the public loves to see pictures of Stars without make-up...I have looked through a lot of pictures and found a few examples I will use today!  This was a little hard because it seems like paparazzi wants to take horrible pictures on purpose (bad hair, obviously not feeling well...).  Anyway, above is Ashley Greene I love this picture because she looks great in both!  She is confident and does not hide behind her make-up!  You can tell make-up is fun for her!  It can be that way for you too!

Here is a great one of Debra Messing...again she is confident in both, but guess what she is just like you and me!  A lot of times we place stars on a higher pedestal.  They are people just like you and me.  Fancy Cameras and airbrushing can change someones appearance drastically!

Amanda Seyfried also looks so confident without the glam.  She looks just like us you know why because she is just like us!  Make-up is not a chore to these ladies so why should it be for you?

This New Year don't make the same resolution...instead change your mind!

I have been around both types of people and sadly I have let negativity invade my personal bubble to many times!  This year I am working on really changing my mind set,  if I am more positive my life is 100% better!  I am a better wife, mommy, and friend!  I know my family deserves the best side of me and that side is the positive, bubbly Mandy.

It is more then just saying I will be more positive though...it takes a lot of faith and if I ever feel like something is to much you will find me on my knees.  I know God can help clear my mind and see the bigger picture.  I will have set backs but those set backs are just arrows getting ready to be launched towards the right path for me!  Believe in yourself, you are worth it and you can do anything!

My family and I are headed towards an exciting new chapter in our lives, full of helping others, traveling, and teaching our children how to be truly successful.  When I say successful I don't mean only money.  We want them to be proud of themselves and this doesn't come from money, sports, or even friends.  True happiness is 100% driven by your mind.  There is so much negativity in the world right now.  A lot of people strive on it because it makes them feel better about themselves to see someone having a hard time.  That is sad, I want my children to be happy with themselves and then go out in this negative world and share their faith and happiness to help others in need.  

Do me a favor when you go to sleep tonight clear your mind of all the things you wish you had, things that need to still be done, the bills that keep coming, or any other thought that is negative.  Go to sleep with a clear mind thinking about things yo are thankful for, people you can help, imagine yourself at your dream vacation.  Wake up striving for positive outcomes.
